Larry Johnson, former CIA and State Department counterterrorism officer, wasn't buying the framing.
"Iran has not posed a threat to those countries at all in 47 years... This is about the United States. All this other is just bullshit window dressing."
His point: Kuwait is arming up against the consequences of hosting American strikes, then calling it deterrence against Iran instead of admitting what it's actually deterring.
He's also skeptical Pakistan can even deliver. Islamabad already has a defense pact with Saudi Arabia, and when the Houthis hit Saudi soil, Pakistan didn't move.
