CNN reports the Trump administration has tentatively agreed to let Saudi Arabia enrich uranium without the Additional Protocol, the stricter inspection regime built to catch weapons work, and the deal has not yet reached Congress.
Alan Eyre spent years negotiating with Iran over exactly this technology, and his translation lands hard: enrichment is the hard part of a bomb, so blessing it under lighter inspections is a runway to threshold status, a weapon available on a decision.
Riyadh's logic is open.
