Axios is reporting a full cabinet session in the Situation Room to plan a far bigger air campaign, with Trump warning that "next week comes the power plant, next week comes the bridges."
Per the report, one option on that table is Pickaxe Mountain, an enrichment site buried so deep that an adviser to Iran's parliament speaker calls it the most fortified nuclear facility on earth.
The same adviser warned the region "will turn to hell" if it is touched.
Former CIA analyst Larry Johnson took the threat seriously and the target less so.
In his assessment, Iran's deep sites were engineered to ride out far worse than conventional bombing:
"A nuclear bomb is not going to take them out."
A strike on Pickaxe, by that logic, buys pure escalation with nothing to show for it.
He also revisited the "obliterated" claim from last June.
The DIA assessed otherwise at the time, and its director was removed months later.
