🇺🇸🇮🇷 America can produce 96 THAAD interceptors a year. Iran can produce 3,600 ballistic missiles. General Randy Manner says that alone tells you who's winning the war of attrition.
Manner, retired US Army general, joined me as reports surfaced that US commanders are now letting some Iranian missiles and drones pass through air defenses on purpose, to conserve what's left of Patriot and THAAD interceptors.
He says that's a professional reality.
"The Iranians can continue to deplete our stocks faster than we can replace them because we are using the wrong tool for the problem."
Manner also pointed to something rarely talked about: Iran has shown real restraint by not targeting US troops stationed in the Gulf, despite having the capability, because doing so would only escalate things further against them.
If neither side's military strategy is actually working, and ego is what's driving the decision-making instead, what does an off-ramp even look like?
